Public Policy Projects (PPP), in partnership with Integrated Care Journal (ICJ), is delighted to launch the opening event of the Environmental Health Series: ‘The climate crisis is a health crisis: The health consequences of climate change’ on Tuesday 9th March (1:00-2:00pm GMT).

Chair Rt Hon Stephen Dorrell will be joined by Join Kathy Baughman McLeod, SVP and Director of the Adrienne Arsht–Rockefeller Foundation Resilience Center at the Atlantic Council and Dr Jeni Miller, Executive Director of the Global Climate and Health Alliance to discuss the health implications of climate change and the importance of health in the climate change discussions.

The series will examine the link between climate change and health. It has been widely reported that a changing climate threatens to undermine the past 50 years of gains in public health, disrupting the wellbeing of communities and the foundations on which health systems are built. While there is a clear consensus of the danger climate change poses for the planet, there is less attention placed on how climate change is affecting human health. This series seeks to tackle this issue head on, casting a spotlight on the links between a changing environment and health. In the words of the British Medical Association (BMA): “The climate crisis is a health crisis”.
