Public Policy Projects (PPP) is pleased to invite you to our February local government thought leadership breakfast with Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, Rt Hon James Brokenshire MP:

Meeting the Housing Needs for Older People

It is a challenge for local authorities to ensure provision of enough housing of sufficient quality at affordable cost suitable for an ageing population. This event will present an opportunity to hear from the Secretary of State and discuss with him the issues for local authorities. He is keen to encourage the creative use of the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) whether it is to assist with building new homes or refurbishing and regenerating existing homes. The Secretary of State will talk about this and working with local authorities more generally.

Public Policy Projects is hosting this breakfast in partnership with local government experts Bevan Brittan LLP and retirement property developers PegasusLife.

It will be held under the Chatham House rule.

Date: Monday, February 25th 2019

Time: 8.30am – 10.30am

Location: The Law Society, 113 Chancery Lane, London, WC2A 1PL.

About PegasusLife:

Established in 2012, PegasusLife was created to rethink and reinvent the places and ways in which we live as we get older. Over the past century, our population has aged dramatically, yet many of the retirement housing solutions on the market no longer meet the needs of the new generation of retirees. Retirement housing helps prevent some of the largest hurdles facing older people in the UK. While physical health issues are well documented, issues such as mental illness and loneliness are still misunderstood, and it is our mission to bridge the gaps that we see in these areas.
