Public Policy Projects (PPP) in collaboration with deloitte is pleased to invite you to our last life sciences series thought leadership event\u00a0 of 2018 with\u00a0Joint Chair of the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy Implementation Board,\u00a0Professor Sir John Bell GBE “The Implementation of the Life Sciences Industrial Strategy and Sector Deal<\/strong>“.<\/p>\n

Following the publication of the UK Life Sciences Industrial Strategy and the first Sector Deal, Sir John will be giving his insight and anlysis on the impact of the strategy and deal as well as offer his thoughts on future development plans for the strategy.\u00a0 In a workshop style, this event will enable attendees to assess current plans and offer their thoughts for future iterations.<\/p>\n

Sir John Bell<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sir John is a Canadian\u00a0immunologist\u00a0and\u00a0geneticist.\u00a0 From 2006 to 2011, he was President of the\u00a0Academy of Medical Sciences, and since 2002 has held the\u00a0Regius Chair of Medicine\u00a0at the\u00a0University of Oxford.\u00a0 He\u00a0was\u00a0knighted\u00a0for services to medicine in the\u00a0New Year Honours\u00a0of 2009 and\u00a0appointed\u00a0Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire\u00a0(GBE) in the 2015 New Year Honours for services to medicine, medical research and the life science industry.\u00a0 He is one of the few Canadians to be admitted to the highest class in this order.<\/p>\n

Some of his positions include chairing the board of trustees of the\u00a0Oxford Health Alliance\u00a0and the science committee of the\u00a0UK Biobank\u00a0he chairs the Global Health Scientific Advisory Board of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, he is a non-executive member of\u00a0Genomics England, a member of Cancer Research UK.\u00a0 Sir John has advised governments and foundations in Singapore, France, Canada, Sweden, Finland, Alberta on Biomedical Research.<\/p>\n
